There is a bustling business for business cards. In fact, I will soon place an
order for a batch of business cards for myself.
Don't get me wrong - I love technology, but I believe some of you will
agree that there are some things our current level technology cannot
replace. Remember when e-readers were introduced? Sure, some major
book sellers have since gone out of business, but it looks like Powell's (the
largest independent bookstore in the world - located in Portland, Oregon) is
doing well.
I cannot think of a quicker way to exchange information than with a
business card. As David Steward mentioned earlier, it can appear to be
rude to take a couple seconds to enter information on a smart phone. Not
to mention there are times when I mistype and enter incorrect
information. That's why my business cards have QR codes on them! The
recipient can scan the code with their smartphone, capture my info
(optionally download a contact file for iOS or Android), and toss the card.
