Kendle turned his love of sports, history and the Hall into a pursuit of
passion. He received his undergraduate degree in history from Kent State
and knew the Hall was looking to expand its Education Department, so he did
what he needed to do to "get my foot in the door."

He interned at the Hall in 2005 and was hired full time on Jan. 1, 2006.

He worked his way up, becoming a member of the research team, and after
earning a master's degree in library science, became the Hall's archivist,
a role he has held for the past three years. The job puts Kendle in the
trenches of preserving the game's history — one of the Hall's four pillars.

how I should live my life, since I’m so obviously incapable of deciding for
myself.” M. Hashimoto
