The reason 'information governance' is failing in EVERY organization is because no one knows what 'information governance' is. Or how it differs from traditional records management. Or how it is BETTER than traditional records management. And, perhaps most importantly, NO ONE can provide ONE LEGITIMATE CASE STUDY where implementing 'information governance' has resolved any organization's information lifecycle management crisis where traditional records management practices had previously failed.
The Emperor is naked. 'Information governance' not a discipline. It is a meaningless marketing term that was developed by sales people to sell software solutions that are substantially overpriced and ultimately make the unsustainable growth of costly, risky information much, much worse.
