A couple months back I posted a link to the vacancy notice for my position and my plan to Retire (after 23.5 years). My successor, Jennifer Scriven, has been on board for the past two weeks, doing the OJT thing and asking questions. She has already signed onto this list, and I told her it is customary to introduce herself with her first post.

I walk out of the Courthouse as employee for the last time Friday afternoon. I have plenty to do in Retirement to stay productively busy, and I know I will not return to RM. I am ready to do different things, things I want to do. Now that I will no longer be "Hatched" I intend to be an old guy activist, especially pushing for  improvements for my neighborhood parks and trails.

To those of you who have helped me over the years with answers and advice, thanks again!
