Good Day Everyone!

I have drafted a destruction procedure and am facilitating a meeting next week with my Records Management Operating Committee to review.

Once I have unanimous approval, I will take the enterprise-wide destruction procedure to our Chiefs.

This is the process I was planning to use for vetting it with my Committee:

1. Present Process for Discussion

2. Summary of Procedure (I reviewed our approach and main points last month. they have been reviewing on their own and a few people have given me feedback)

3. Give everyone a few minutes to present their views. I have 15 people!

4. Identify areas of agreement

5. Identify gaps and Possible resolution

6. Ask the group to vote to a) Approve the procedure or b) continue the discussion identifying items that need to be closed.

I would love to get your input on methods you have used to get approval for a procedure!

My objective is for an enterprise-wide procedure but how many of you have enterprise-wide destruction procedure versus having guidelines for business units?

THANK YOU for any lessons learned and for taking the time to consider my questions! Have a great week!!
