I like this solution for onsite storage. Do you have a recommendation for handling them once the files are sent to offsite storage? Obviously, you would likely want the CD's stored in a climate controlled environment and removed from the folder.

Not sure if anyone else has recommended this - there are stick-on CD envelopes that could be affixed to the inside of the folder. This would prevent the CD from accidentally falling out of the folder. They run about 30-50 cents apiece and are readily available at most office supply stores.

Subject: [RM] CD Protection within a File Folder

I'm hoping that someone has a similar experience and has found a solution
that works. More of our clients are sending their documents to us on CDs.
Since our file system is primarily paper based, the attorneys and staff have
been sending these CDs to the file room for inclusion in their matter
folders. I've already had a CD break because of the rough handling the
files receive when they are placed on or removed from the shelves. I've
tried the bubble wrap mailers and hard plastic cases, but the CDs are still
breaking. Has anyone found a product that will truly protect them?
