Several years ago I worked for a major company that was upgrading their
servers. Unfortunately we had over 6 TB of unstructured data sitting in file
shares that IT was reluctant to put on the new servers. The solution we came
up with was to download the unstructured data to tape. If the data was
needed the user would contact IT. During an 18 month period of time we were
contacted by only two users and we had to retrieve only 800 MB of data.
