From the blog entry:

"Agencies cannot ignore their record keeping responsibilities because
content appears in a system or platform that is not easily captured by their
current record keeping practices. Record keeping practices must evolve
faster to keep up with the changing electronic landscape."

"Agencies’ records officers need to be involved in the design, development,
and implementation of electronic information systems as well as web 2.0 and
social media platforms. If record keeping is an afterthought, it might never
be done."

The blog also links to this Oct. 20, 2010 NARA Bulletin:
"Guidance on Managing Records in Web 2.0/Social Media Platforms"
