It was the time when people were interested to know others opinions.
Now "we" are "independent".
It was the time before SharePoint, it was the time when telephones were at every corner, it was the time when mail was delivered on time to your door, and you did not need to go to pick it up from the local plaza, and you did not pay for second bag when take a plane

Yeah....
I recall a time when a certain Standards group was aware of these things far
in advance of the draft being issued by 'Sister organizations' and obtained
copies for review by the committee and/or a task force, then provided input
from the perspective of THEIR membership.
But that was then, and this is now.
