There is currently one vacancy on the City of Alexandria, Va. Public Records Advisory Commission. The position is open to anyone interested in archives and records management and is a resident of the City of Alexandria, Va. Individuals from Alexandria in Fairfax County are not eligible.
The Commission meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM at City Hall, with the exception of July, August and December. No more than a 2-hour commitment per month is required.
The Public Records Advisory Commission is a 7-member citizen body composed of people who are interested in archives and records management and provide advice to the City Records Administrator and Archivist on such matters. The board has no regulatory powers. Members are typically Historians, Archivists, Records Managers and IT professionals, but any adult who resides in the City of Alexandria is eligible.
