This is sort of like asking whether FedEx packages should be considered official records.  Dashboards may display information in any of several ways and may or may not be considered records quality.  The dashboard is usually just the delivery method.  However it's conceivable that someone might happen to store original electronic data only in the location where the dashboard is stored and if they delete the data in the location, it could put records at risk.  Also if the setup/layout of the dashboard itself lends to decision making then it could be said that screen shots of that could be records quality, but that might be harder to determine and capture.

Subject: Dashboards

I haven't heard much on the list about 'dashboards' as records.  I'd love to 
hear opinions both for and aginst the notion that dashboards should be 
considered official records.
