To All,

I absolute agree with all of those persons stating an opinion that this
change substantially waters down and devalues the certification. I am
shocked that this was a unanimous vote. I already felt that the professional
experience requirements were on low side as it was. This is change strikes
me as absurd. Proper experience is not an "administrative hurdle". The idea
that a 25 year old with a BA in English lit with 1.5 years' experience in a
file room might be allowed to sit and pass the CRM exam will absolutely
lower the value of the certification and lower the overall earning potential
of the current holders of the designation.

Laurie, I went through the same process (had a master's, but still needed
the 3 years experience), and I agreed with it. I too think that this change
will devalue our certification - a large part of what employers are
receiving when they hire a CRM is at least 3 years of experience (plus the
time it took to complete the exam) in multiple areas, not just someone who's
good at taking tests. I'd really be interested to know the true motivation
for this - saving people from "administrative hurdles" certainly doesn't
justify the change in my mind.

Thank you,
