Good Morning All,

Greetings from Wichita, KS. It's been a while since my last post, so
I'll reintroduce myself. I've been primarily a lurker and sometimes
contributor to the list since at least 2000. I worked for 12 year in
C.O.M. operations (remember them?) and since 1990 have been in RIM in
Higher Education, Oil & Gas for a short while, and am now in the
aerospace industry.

Over the past couple of years I've been noticing more articles and
pitches revolving around MDM (Master Data Management). It has not
filtered through our company yet to my knowledge, but I'm wondering how
it is affecting RIM practices in general across the board. Is it a
concept we should be looking at for bettering the management of
information? Is it a fad? Is it something we can learn from? Is it
something we should be recommending our organizations shy away from?

Discuss!
