Chris Flynn commented "I have never been comfortable with PDF as an
archival tool, not since adobe first began to explain lossless." 

 

To which Fred Grevin replied ..."TC171 is actively working on several
areas, including PDF/UA (Universal Access) and updating PDF/E. PDF/A-2
has just been finalised."

 

Which spurns a question with my  first cup 'o joe.

 

So, how many flavors of PDF are in the store this week and what are
their intended uses?  Fred - can this be found in a current TC171
document?  I've been on several assignments lately, so I have not been
keeping up like I need to.
