Records Storage Supervisor

Minimum salary: $32,000 with State Benefits Package

The Library of Virginia is seeking a Records Storage Supervisor in the Archives, 
Records & Collection Services Division to oversee daily records storage 
operations of the State Records Center facility located in eastern Henrico 
County.  Responsibilities include direction and management of the records 
storage program and staff as well as ensuring proper oversight of the inactive 
records stored in the records center section (approximately 210,000 cubic 
feet capacity) and the permanent records housed in the Archives Annex 
(@88,000 cubic feet capacity); leading records center personnel in their daily 
work ensuring proper processes and workflow are in use; and promoting the 
use of the State Records Center by state agencies and localities throughout 
the Commonwealth by conducting on-site and off-site educational workshops.

Qualifications:
• Experience with sales, marketing, and customer retention.
• Experience in records storage/warehouse management.
• Good working knowledge of computers and databases.
• General overall understanding of records management.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Ability to provide program leadership and creativity in the areas of records 
analysis, archival and records storage, and support services functions.
• Good organizational skills and ability to schedule personnel to pick-up and 
deliver records to customers within the Richmond city limits and make daily 
work assignments to ensure smooth operations.
• Ability to oversee the customer billing process to ensure timely and accurate 
revenue stream from the records center operation.
• Ability to conduct training as required, whether with internal staff through 
SRC Site Orientations for personnel assigned to the State Records Center or 
by holding workshops for existing, and prospective, customers.
• Ability to resolve problems.
• Must be able to operate high-rise equipment, a forklift, and shredders.  
• Must be able to lift heavy boxes above 50 pounds.
• Must have a valid Virginia operator’s license or ability to obtain.
• A bachelor's degree in business, industrial or management engineering, 
information science, or related field or work experience preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may 
substitute for educational requirements.

This position is paid for with non-general funding sources.
