Associate Archivist - Corporate Archives and Records - Williamsburg, Virginia

The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation is seeking qualified candidates with a dedicated career interest and experience in corporate archives and records management work to fill a vacancy for associate archivist. Colonial Williamsburg is the nonprofit organization established in 1926 to restore, preserve and interpret the 18th century colonial capital of Virginia.  Colonial Williamsburg attracts over one million visitors annually.

This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits located in beautiful, historic Williamsburg; it is relocation eligible.
Skills for this position are generally gained through completion of a B.A. in history or other related field, plus some post-graduate education in archives, library or information science; OR one or more years archives and records management experience in processing, storing, and retrieving archives/records/data.

Primary duties of the associate archivist include:
Under general supervision, accessions, processes, preserves, and stores incoming paper and electronic records by using various indexing and storage technologies. Responds to customer reference requests using various manual and automated retrieval systems. Assists with the department's overall records management and records disposition program activities. Assists in training new employees, volunteers, and apprentices to use information retrieval aids.
Participates with Director and other Archives staff in providing tours and other demonstrations of department programs and systems to our customers and others.
