Hi list,
I was wondering how those of you that are audited by NERC handle your records retention schedule to accommodate needing to keep records for 6 years (potentially 7 depending on when audit occurs). We have been told here by the audit group that all records (that have the potential to be in scope) need to have at minimum +7 to accommodate for all things that NERC touches not just audit reports and or evidence. Are you all creating different record series for NERC driven retention or just calculating into the longest retention based on state, federal, and or local requirements? I realize that quite a few of the records in question are Life of Asset or Perm but what about the rest? Are you lengthening prescribed retentions to accommodate NERC? We are governed both by utility and local government and want to figure out a way where city and utility needs are both met understanding we absolutely have to adhere to NERC standards as audited by the TRE. Your feedback is most appreciated.
Thanks,
adh
