For what it's worth...I try to keep my business/work apart from my personal life by limiting Facebook to my "personal" activities and Linkedin for my business activities.  It can be very "gray" at times and I know some folks may be "put-off" when I refuse to connect on Facebook, but I do try to keep things separate...

Unfortunately, "everything" legally is a "record" and discoverable, so...that's the chance you take to stay "connected" and to share a bit of humanity. :-)
