I have a couple, the first I tell my daughters all of the time: "If you are going to do something, do it right the first time. That way you don't have to make time later to fix it." In other words, life if too short to half-ass anything.
Another one I use is a Japanese proverb (being a Japanese Language & Literature major at BYU): 猿も木から落ちる
This reads saru mo ki kara ochiru. Or, literally translated, even monkies fall from trees. That's just a clever way of saying everyone makes mistakes.
