The Ottawa County Circuit Court’s first official term was in 1839 and that
means the county has more than 175 years worth of official court records it
has to keep.

Even though computers were introduced into the court system in Ottawa
County in the mid 1990s, digital records could really only serve as a
backup copy. State law still requires a hard copy of case files to serve as
official record. That includes criminal, civil, domestic and juvenile
cases.

Every one of them.
