Information governance is a set of guiding principles for business leaders
(e.g., CIO, CEO, COO, CFO) on the effective, efficient, and acceptable use
of information technology within their organizations, according to ISO/IEC
38500: 2008.

For some business leaders, information governance is one of those
nice-to-haves that falls to the bottom of the priority list because there
are always more pressing needs, or there is no line item in the budget for
it, or not enough resources to allocate to it.
