interesting. while at the Venetian for the ARMA conference I got into a
discussion with one of their electricians. I complained about how poorly
the CFL lighting in my room was. the electrician noted that the casino had
just finished replacing all of their incandescent lighting with either CFLs
or LEDs. The result was that their electricity bill went from $10 million a
month to a little over $2 million.

as for reporting about shredding is the information used to identify trends
(increase in tonnage or decrease or holding steady) in other words what is
the number telling us. do you compare the amount shredded to the amount of
paper bought? what percentage of the paper purchased is shredded versus not
shredded.

the key question definitely. How can we reduce our waste stream. At former
employer we would turn obsolete forms into small note pads (divide
letter-sized paper into 4 notepads) saved us from buying note pads.
