Anthony Clark talked about his book, *The Last Campaign: How Presidents
Rewrite History, Run for Posterity and Enshrine Their Legacies*, about
about the politics behind the presidential libraries and the National
Archives and Records Administration. In his book, Mr. Clark says that these
taxpayer funded libraries don’t serve the public well and are largely used
by presidents to whitewash their images and raise millions of dollars for
political purposes. As a legislative director in the House of
Representatives during 111th Congress, Mr. Clark led investigations into
the abuses committed by presidential libraries and the National Archives.

"The problems of our economy have occurred not as an outgrowth of
laissez-faire, unbridled competition.
They have occurred under the guidance of federal agencies, and under the
umbrella of federal regulations."
Senator Ted Kennedy, in defending trucking deregulation in 1978.
