We bought Montel, and the system is fine (they are competitor to
Spacesaver). So I would say to choose the one that has a rep that is
close enough to come, as needed.

To me they (Montel and Spacesaver) are very similar. They have a 'newer'
rail that is just the rail that is attached to the floor. If the floor is
flat enough and meets the company standards, they will just attach them to
the floor. This can add up to one whole extra shelf. That way, you
don't have to have a deck. They have a way to deal with when the
carriages get 'loose' and need to be tightened so the carriages don't
roll. Ours are manual (cheaper and easier since they aren't at the full
length allowed, which makes them easier to turn manually). We can also
lock down the carriages so no one can open them, but that was basically a
waste of money, since the location has limited access anyway.

I would very carefully map out the space and uber design for your goals.
Mine was to maximize storage shelving (get as many boxes on as I could). I
have very little processing room, etc. That's how it is. I work around
that.

Fire codes are a very serious space constraint. I had an architect come
in and make sure I met all the requirements for distance from
doors/doorways, ceiling/sprinklers, etc.

Floor weight is a must to figure out, when deciding where and what you can
do w/mobile shelving.
