I agree that these larger boxes get tossed around quite a bit more.  Some of my larger boxes weigh as much as 120 pounds
which makes it a pain to bring it down from forty feet high.

Some of the old style accounting boxes are still in use as I saw them with another employer only a couple of years ago.  At twice the size (or more?) than our beloved cubic foot box, they hold around 80 lbs of paper and many folks don't seem to care whether or not they stack them five or six high. 
Where boxes are concerned, small is beautiful!
