Archives Program Specialist Vacancy Announcement
 
The School of Information Studies (SOIS) at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking a focused, self-motivated individual to serve as the Archives Program Specialist.
 
This position will oversee the Archives field placements, coordination of events and programs as well as provide instruction to graduate level students for the School of Information Studies. The incumbent will be expected to use discretionary judgment and act independently in this program area. This position is one of a team of employees that works collaboratively to support the educational mission of the school in providing exemplary services to both the online and onsite student population. Teaching at least one course during the year will be expected.
 
Additionally, this position will facilitate and provide support for other SOIS concentrations for graduate students including those in IT, Digital Libraries and Public Libraries. Work for these areas may include but is not limited to tracking students in their fieldwork placements and verification of requirements for graduation; organizing guest speakers, managing internal communications; working with the student organizations; and staffing booths at conferences.
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters in Library and Information Studies (MLIS) or related field.
 
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-4 years’ experience working in an Archives setting
- Familiarity with building partnerships in the community for field placement opportunities
- Teaching experience
- Experience working with CRM programs
- Ability to work with diverse populations
