We have used for the past 4 years the Ricoh IS420 scanners. At last
count we have scanned over 1 million pages on each. We use Captiva as
for our scanning modules, OCR, QA, IE, etc.

Good luck!

We have been using Kodak's 2500 scanner ( sheet only) and 1500 (
flat-bed
with sheet feeder) at $5M-6M respectively. Either will process about
2000
to 4000 pages per day using Adobe as the scanning software. The
scanner
run at 40-50 pages per min at 200dpi.

Good Afternoon!

I am curious as to what is the most commonly used document imaging
program? Any suggestions that are widely used and can handle very large
quantity (3,000-10,000 a month). Any suggestions on scanners that are
good for this type of quantity? I'm going to research this on my own, I
just need a little advise to point me in the right direction.

Need a little background info?

My department is basically a payroll and benefit administration
department
(we use PeopleSoft) for all four campuses of CU. Soo.... We would be
scanning 20,000 - 30,000 files initially. And then there is, obviously,
a
continuous new hire and termination cycle, that I can't really estimate
the amount. However, in our busiest months which are beginning of the
new
academic year and end of year, we receive approximately 6,000-10,000 new
documents (very rough estimates), with the majority of them needing a
new
file.

In advance, thanks for all of your help! I appreciate it greatly! ; -
