"Until screens get much bigger and better and bifocals and computer glasses
become an artifact of our history I suspect that long documents will be
regularly printed out. I know for myself I would rather not have a headache
and suffer eyestrain in order to reduce printing costs. When these issues
are better addressed I have every confidence that office printing will
decline."

And darn it all - an e-book or an e-newspaper just doesn't cut it in the
bathroom now does it?

My former partner was instrumental in the development of the Tablet PC. I
got to see all kinds of neato keeno prototypes and test machines. Although
the screens are really nice, there's just something about the entire reading
experience that requires paper. Even clear text or true text doesn't enhance
the texture that is missing from a good read captured on paper.

But....printing to read is one thing and paper can be recycled. Long term
storage is another issue.
