In recently published book "Efficient Records Management: From Traditional to Electronic" by Marina Bobyleva (senior manager of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation) the following figures about paper recordkeeping in Russia are given:

 

-         State agencies produce 250 billion pages of paper records annually, 

-         Average production and handling cost is 50 rubles (1.72 USD) per record

-         The number of pieces of paper used in Russian government' recordkeeping is increasing at 8-15% per year
