Looks like the exchange was from 1974; which is of no consequence for
today's message.

However, in the explanation part of the article there is an  erroneous
statement:  <snip> "but in 1974 America had just ended its long and
controversial involvement in Vietnam" <snip>.

The USA ended it's military involvement in Viet Nam in late April,
1975, not in 1974.

Call me skeptical, but I just had to verify this via snopes.com and it
