I remember a presentation several years ago about the subject of
purchasing "computer" solutions to business problems. My memory might
be a bit clouded but the jist of the presentation was this:

According to a MIT study:
 - Between 1985 and 1995 American industry increased productivity 100%
due to the deployment and use of technology.
 - Between 1985 and 1995 American businesses had no increase in
productivity in spite of the deployment and use of technology.
The bottom line: Computers help people do stupid things faster.

Expecting any purchased RM solution to be an instant cure for an
organization is akin to eating magic mushrooms to make the colors of
your house look brighter. It may seem like a good idea at the time, but
it doesn't do anything for the resale value.
