Barb,

Why not go ahead and develop a retention schedule for these records?  I've
always thought that ALL company records should be scheduled.  Now, if you're
talking about records that don't have specific state, federal, or some other
regulatory requirements, then, perhaps a default rule might work for some
records.  I'd be hesitant to create an "across the board" default rule
because not all records--even if they don't have specific state/federal
requirements, will be of the same "default rule" value to your organization.

Just my thoughts...
