One of the first jobs I had as a teenager was in the Greenwood Inn
mentioned in this story, cleaning the kitchen. It was great because I
could hang out with the bands playing the club, who took their breaks in
the kitchen, among them Seafood Mama (later Quarterflash, who
Portlanders of a certain age will remember). It was a pretty fancy
place, used for a while for ARMA meetings. Now meth addicts are stealing
abandoned business records from it and using them to engage in identity
theft. Life takes some strange turns, doesn't it?
