Email should not be purged just because it is an email. The disposition/retention of an email should be evaluated based on the content of the email, not its format. That goes for Michigan too!

Subject: email retention

Hello,

My IT Mgr. would like to know when (timeframe) email should be purged. And is it considered a legal record in Michigan?

Thanks
