One way to handle physical destruction is to use an electronics
recycling company. These folks are skilled in the complete and utter
annihilation of electronic equipment. They'll typically charge by the
pound. You might want to audit an actual execution of their
destruction process (include your security team if appropriate), and
verify their credentials, including references and government
certifications; they should also allow you to witness your equipment's
destruction and provide you with certificates of destruction.

Subject: Destruction of IBM DASD

All,

Any help with the physical disposition of the DASD unit once the data
has been erased, reformatted, and overwritten. We want to "kill" it,
not reuse or sell.

Thanks in advance,
