Most definitely. to see even more misinterpretation one can always go
back and check out the RAIN postings that I made at the end of
November and parts of December. lots of misinformation was being put
forth. at times i wondered what document they were reading from.
These misinterpretations remind me of an individual on another list
who was told by her IT group that the Sarbanes-Oxley required that
passwords be at least 8-10 characters in length, contain at least one
numeric, one special and one uppercase character. I forwarded a copy
of Sox to that individual and said "here's the law, have your IT folks
point to the section they are referring to." the response I got was
"they couldn't"
My point is never ever believe what someone else tells you (unless its
Larry, Pat or me, or maybe SteveW) about retention or something that
affects records management unless they give you a copy of the law or
regulation that they are citing. make them come up with the evidence.
