I have been asked to post the following position.  Please respond using

Librarian 1 * State Library

The Connecticut State Library is recruiting for a full time Librarian 1
* Public Records Archivist 1.

DUTIES:  The Librarian 1 will work under the direction of the Public
Records Administrator or other professional of a higher level and will
provide assistance to state agencies and municipalities in archives and
records management activities.  Duties will include:  evaluating and
analyzing state and municipal public records to determine retention and
disposition values; assisting in the review of current state agency and
municipal retention schedules, making updates as necessary and producing
them in appropriate electronic format; assisting the Public Records
Administrator in developing new records retention schedules; providing
assistance to state agencies records management liaison officers and
municipal records officers regarding records management issues; making
necessary site visits; assisting in the development of archives and
records management training programs; making presentations in archives
and records management before professional organizations, public
officials and other groups; and assisting in the review, update and
development of records management policies, procedures and general
letters and regulations issued by the Public Records Administrator.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:  A Master's degree in Library Science
or Information Science from a library school accredited by the American
Library Association.  Certified Records Manager (CRM) designation a
plus.

SALARY:  $52,811 annual starting rate.
