I've mostly been lurking lately, but I had to respond to this.
I spent my childhood and adolescent years as the prototypical geek. I
was awful at sports and hated, hated, hated gym class. I would much
rather have been inside reading. Instead, I got
"David, you run like a girl."
"David, you throw like a girl."
Now, it's
"David, you write like a girl."
Thanks.
(Actually, as most of my favorite authors as women, I can't say it
bothers me!)
