To my Records Management Colleagues:

I'm in the process of sending a RFP to implement an enterprise Document
and Records Management system for Central New Mexico Community College.
Our college utilizes the SungardHE Banner for Education products. The
school is looking for a Records Management system to manage our paper
records and also a system that will allow SungardHE Banner integration
with the records repository. As a Records Manager, I would like to
manage (apply retention schedules, run destruction cycles, etc) to the
Banner records and the paper records. In today's Records Management
practices, is it best practice to manage both of these records in a
single repository? Or to get the project started can we manage the
records in two separate repositories and eventually move to one the
future? I'm working with closely with our Information Technology
department on this issue also. Any feedback or comments on this would
be greatly appreciated? Thanks for your time
