Hello Information Community,

We are extremely pleased to announce the fourth volume of the Faculty of
Information Quarterly:

Vol 1, No 4 (2009): Summer issue<https://fiq.ischool.utoronto.ca/index.php/fiq>!

The aim of the journal is to promote conversation within the iSchool
movement and its affiliates, including researchers, students and
professionals in the field. What is information, where is, how does it
effect us, what is its potential?

We strongly believe that a forum is needed to explore and share what is
happening in the field, and that such a conversation requires a more of an
open mind than traditional publications allow. As such, F/IQ maintains high
standards for publication, but we aim to promote a level of openness and
familiarity such that authors can speak freely in the journal.

This volume focuses on reporting on the busy spring and summer conference
season. It includes original scholarly pieces generated by both iSchool
students and members of the broader Information community. Topics covered in
this volume include a wide range of issues, from lessons for the library
world from Flickr to interactive information retrieval systems.

We believe the content of this volume will engage you and trust you will
view F/IQ a place to revisit and to contribute in the months and years
ahead. If you are interested in submitting for future volumes or if you have
any questions regarding the publication, contact the editorial team at

On behalf of the editing team, welcome to the summer issue. Happy reading!
