The Western Colorado Chapter of ARMA will be hosting our annual spring seminar, RIM 2012:  Are You Ready?, on Friday, May 4, 2012, at the Old Mesa County Courthouse, 544 Rood, Grand Junction, Colorado, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Kirke Snyder JD, MSLA will present the morning session on "Electronic Records Discovery…the Marriage of I.T., Legal, and Records."  This presentation will include an introduction to e-Discovery, new precedents impacting the risk of
e-Discovery, best practices, forms and checklists, and automated tools.

Mr. Snyder, a professor of law and ethics at Regis University College for Professional Studies in Denver, Colorado, has earned a law degree and also a master’s degree in legal administration.  Recognized as a court appointed expert, Kirke has over twenty-five years of experience consulting to law firms and corporate law departments about litigation, e-Discovery, and corporate records management.  During his career, Kirke has been a practice leader and/or litigation support consultant at Arthur Andersen, Deloitte, FTI Consulting and LECG.  He is also the author of many professional articles and training materials regarding e-Discovery.

Brian Starck, CRM, will provide the afternoon session on "Implementing SharePoint 2010: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."  Brian will be discussing the implementation of SharePoint 2010 at a local government organization.  He will discuss what went right, what went wrong, and how they are overcoming the obstacles that come up in any new software deployment.  Real world examples of the benefits of the system and how to deal with change management will be covered.

Mr. Starck has been working in the records management industry since 1991.  He is the Enterprise Records and Information Manager for the Regional Transportation District (RTD) in Denver.  Prior to joining RTD in June 2008 he worked on records projects at Denver International Airport, Level 3 Communications, Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site, and as a consultant with Qwest Communications and Xcel Energy.  Brian is a past President of the Mile High/Denver Chapter of ARMA International and currently serves as Treasurer for the ARMA Midwest/Rocky Mountain Region.  He attained his CRM (Certified Records Manager) certification in July 2002.

This seminar has been pre-approved for 5.5 CRM and 3 CLE credits.  To find out more about the seminar or register, please go to our website http://wcoarma.webs.com/.
