IMHO...The "twists" on information governance are:
1) The Legal folks are saying the "house is burning", we gotta do something...
2) The Records and IT folks are simply saying the house needs to be "renovated", let's work on it together...

Great insight Brian.  I'm definitely going to read Blake's article.  I presented at the Mid-Michigan ARMA chapter last month on how RIM and IT professional can work together.  If anyone would like a copy of the presentation let me know.  ARMA also has a publication from 2009 for IT professionals on RIM.  Much of the concepts back then still apply today.
