On the heels of an amendment to the Texas Public Information Act, the City of Amarillo has taken an initial step toward establishing monthly and yearly limits on the amount of time city personnel spend on information requests without recovering costs attributable to that personnel time. Council members voted 4-1 to approve the first reading of Ordinance 7717, which also limits the amount of time spent on requests without recovering the costs attributable to personnel time.
