Duties: The incumbent serves as the Deputy Director in the Records and Filings Office, part of the Office of the Executive Director. The Records and Filings Office (RFO) leads the agency's records and information management program, including policy development and training; serves all official Commission documents; receives and processes most filings before the Commission; processes public comments in all FTC rulemaking proceedings and other matters that solicit public comments; supports the FTC's mission by serving as program manager for agency-wide electronic systems for storing and accessing agency documents, for tracking and managing agency matters, for electronic filing of public comments, and for electronic filing of public documents in FTC administrative litigation; formats and posts to the agency's public web site all filings in FTC administrative litigation and all public comments; stores and retrieves FTC records on- and off-site; and manages the FTC's agency-wide stenographic court reporting contract. The transition to electronic recordkeeping is a key component of the RFO mission, in coordination with the Chief Information Officer.
