I am at a loss to know why Don Saklad thinks that Peter K should be called
to account on this list. No list member is accountable to any other list
member, nor to the list as a whole. Each member - I hope - evaluates any
information received through it as they would any other source of
information. Conversations, information, discussion are contributed in good
faith; through this we form part of a unique professional network. We are
fortunate to have this network.

I once asked Peter off-list how RAIN was put together, as I wanted to
attempt something similar on a list (not a records list) of which I am
listowner. He gave me a most gracious reply, covering generally what he
does. It was just like those he has posted to this list, and most useful it
was too. However, it was not detailed, it did not include "keywords, terms,
descriptors", nor did I expect it to!

This list, like most others, does not take kindly to students asking for
basic help for their assignments, but is very generous in pointing students
in the right direction - especially if they can show that they have done
their homework. Perhaps Don Saklad should take this approach - if he tells
us how far he has got we can provide constructive assistance to help him go
further? The list community does not spoon-feed information to anyone.

The final point is, of course, that most seekers of information indicate why
they are seeking it. Why is Don Saklad so interested in this particular
information?

Thank you to Peter for RAIN.
[and apologies if I have duplicated anyone else's points of view]
