Excellent idea--especially the part about using a laptop in conjunction
with teams--I will
most definitely use that method. One of my hurdles was the best way to
capture information
because, as I mentioned, some of the records were documented
horribly-with little or no information to identify box contents. Your
solution is perfect. Thank you:)

Gary has definitely supplied you with some good ideas. However, if you
are going to be repacking the boxes you will also need to document the
contents. What I have done in the past is use two person teams.
They
would alternate positions (to keep from getting bored or tired) but one
would review/repack the box, then dictate to the other the contents.
The
second person had a laptop available with a set "form" to complete. It
would not only document the contents but any other information that was
written on the outside of the original box (ie: old box number,
description of contents etc). This additional information was added
to
our database as a cross-reference tool.
