I am fairly new as well. A book that was given to me that I found
helpful was Information and Records Management, Document-Based
Information Systems, by Mary F. Robek, Gerald F. Brown, and David O.
Stephens.

Subject: [RM] New to records management

I am new to records management and have found this listserv of great
help

and it holds a great deal of information. I would greatly appreciate

guidance of what books, publications, web sites or other educational

materials you would recommend to someone who is just beginning in the

field but has been given the job responsibility to provide direction to
a

large company for record retention. The record management includes all

media for a health care company with over 6000 employees. Any words of

wisdom from people who are living these responsibilities of best
practices

would be most appreciated. Thank you in advance for your assistance.
