Jesse,

You've given me a whole new story to make good use of! Julie.... should
you call Jesse and tell him what he might be in for now? Poor guy... my
sympathies in advance, Jesse.... ;-)

By the way, if you need some cool photos of ARMA members to use in
presentations in the Atlanta area.....or in South Carolina now, just let
me know!

Hi Doug,

I'll raise you one. I have received a number of letters from the State
of
Tennessee and a private contractor on behalf of the state seeking my
payment
of child support in arrears. The person who owes the child support is
named
Jesse L. Wilkins. Every time I get a letter, I contact them asking them
to
change their records because it clearly ain't me (last lived in TN as a
10-year-old, precocious but not THAT precocious, never had any kids
until,
well, 4.5 months ago). They found my address by looking for "Jesse L.
Wilkins" on the internet and sending a letter to everyone they found.
Wanna
know what it was like the day my wife got the mail and found their
latest
missive therein?

I've been at the same address now for 8 years, so that helped me as well
since the person in question has made court appearances in TN over that
time
period. Probably getting a bit afield here, so I have marked as OT.

Jesse,

Good discussion.... There is one more point that I failed to make, but
that was driven home to me at a meeting of the Property Records Industry
Association (PRIA) a couple years ago......

The point? - Most of us want to ensure that WE are not mistakenly
identified as the "bad actors" with regard to tax liens, with regard to
court judgments, with regard to other isssues.... merely because a
government agency reverted to "names only" in providing such
information. Perhaps that's the reason why the IRS now submits tax
liens with a partial SSN to County Clerks/Recorders/Registers across the
U.S.

I actually experienced this first-hand about 18 months ago, when I
learned that another and different Doug Allen had left behind an $
18,000 bill at a local hospital.... Fortunately, having lived at one
address for 22 years (his differed), did make a difference. My title
company contact was great about it...and it was no problem for me to
sign off on the one additional document that certified that I was not
the "deadbeat Doug" cited in the judgment.

As for a few of the gadflies.... Yep, they do exist, I know some of 'em
and have even been able to learn that at least one in Texas has become a
gadfly because he wants to limit public access to public records and to
force "us" to seek out help from him, and from those like him .... who
make a business of researching public records.
