The point I was making was that as a RIM professional I am responsible for more than just records. How we go about finding our data is not material to my response.

In a recent posting a records manager with Guaranty Financial Services indicated that they were responsible for locating and if necessary preserving all information across the enterprise (not just declared records). I for one would like to know how to do this. How do you locate records in various removable media, emails converted to PDF's or even printed and kept in a desk drawer. I think a fuller posting on the process employed at Guaranty Financial Services would benefit the readers of this list. I understand that there may be confidentiality issues that prevents a detailed explanation but an overview of how to locate any document within a complex enterprise would, I believe, be most helpful.
