At the Baltimore conference, I stumbled upon the Samson Carts booth. Since I'm an IT guy, I wasn't much interested in the product line, but I listened to the demo anyway. I was so impressed with their product, every time I encountered someone I knew, I told them to go check out the booth.
If I had been a live tweeter, I would have posted, "Check out Samson Carts at booth #xxx. Every records center needs at least one." If other people re-posted the same message, there would have been a sudden buzz about a small booth that was tucked away in the far corners of the exhibit hall.
So if you see people fervently pecking away at their phone on the exhibit floor, they might just be tweeting about how great your product is and sending more people your way.
